The Defiance Softball Association has been organizing and managing youth softball leagues for teams across northwest Ohio for many years.

​In 2019, the leagues were all shifted under the newly created Black Swamp Softball League. The goal was to bring all leagues under one umbrella with the emphasis of providing a local and affordable option for youth softball programs in northwest Ohio to compete against other teams from the area. The original idea was to create a spring league for junior high and younger... but, that quickly evolved to include our summer rec ball league and the addition of a fall ball league.
